Zakhar Bron (Violin)
Zakhar Bron (1947), prizewinner in many major international competitions, among them the international Queen Elizabeth in Brussels and the Wieniawski in Poznan, was born in Uralsk. He started his studies at the Stoliarski School for Music in Odessa and went on to the Gnessin Conservatory in Moscow where his teacher was Boris Goldstein. He finally went to the Tchaikovsky Conservatory where he was admitted to Igor Oistrakh’s class and soon became his assistant.

In the past years Zakhar Bron has given concerts all over the world, performing is major halls like the Wiener Musikverein and the Tokyo Suntory Hall. He has proved himself to be an accomplished pedagogue as well. He has held positions as a teacher at the Glinka Konservatorium in Novosibirsk and the Musikhochschule in Lubeck. Also he has gave master classes at the Rotterdam Conservatory, the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Reina Sofia School in Madrid, and so on.

Now he is a professor at the Musikhochschule in Cologne and the Hochschule Musik und Theater Zurich. He travels around the world to give lectures and masterclasses, and many of his students can be found amongst the winners of the most important international violin competitions. Professor Bron is a regular guest in Jury’s of the international violin competitions and holds the post of honorary professor at institutes in the world.

1947年ウラリスクに生まれ、オデッサの音楽学校に学んだ後、60〜66年グネーシン音楽学校でボリス･ゴールドシュタインに、66〜71年モスクワ音楽院でイーゴリ･オイストラフに師事した。71〜74年同音楽院でオイストラフ教授の助手を務めた後、ノヴォシビルスク音楽院に移り、独自の指導法を開発して多くの優秀なヴァイオリニストを育てる。この間71年のエリザベート王妃国際音楽コンクール、77年のヴィエニアフスキー･ヴァイオリン国際コンクールに入賞し、演奏家としての活躍の場を広げる。89年リューベック音楽院の教授となり、以後ロンドン王立音楽アカデミー、ロッテルダム音楽院でも教鞭をとった。現在はケルン音楽大学、チューリッヒ音楽院教授。マドリッドのソフィア王妃音楽大学でも教鞭を執っている。門下からはワディム･レーピン、マキシム･ヴェンゲーロフ、樫本大進、庄司紗矢香、そして2002年のチャイコフスキー国際コンクールで最高位を受賞した川久保賜紀、2007の同コンクールで優勝した神尾真由子をはじめとするトップ･アーティストや、主要な国際コンクールの入賞者を多数輩出している。クライスラー、クーレガンブ、ティボール･ヴァルガなど多くの国際コンクールに審査員として招かれ、2002年、2007年にはチャイコフスキー国際コンクール、2004年にはジュネーヴ国際コンクールの審査員を務めた。 1999年より2002年まで“ヨコハマ ザハール･ブロン ヴァイオリンセミナー”を横浜みなとみらいホールで主宰した。2002年からは宮崎で“みやざきザハール･ブロン音楽祭”を主宰、2005年から毎年“クールシュヴェール国際音楽アカデミーinかさま”に講師として参加している。ロシア功労芸術家。
